Advising and guiding people would be part of your role, whether it’s over the phone, via email or the more traditional face-to-face. There are a number of different responsibilities that vary depending on what level of customer service you are in. At a higher level you would be developing customer service policies and implementing them on the entire company. Furthermore, you could be researching methods to measure customer satisfaction and improving the way your organisation delivers their customer service. At a lower level you would be expected to handle face to face enquiries from customers and solve any problems in a calm, friendly and effective manner.
