Voluntary Paddlesport Assistant
Role: Volunteer Paddlesport Activity Assistant (PAA)
Location: Ribble Canoe Club, Treales Road, Preston PR4 0SA
Salary: Voluntary role
Ribble Canoe Club are searching for Volunteer Paddlesport Activity Assistants to help support the club and assist the team on selected Monday or Tuesday evenings between the hours of 6pm and 8.30pm.
Situated along the rural and picturesque Lancaster Canal, we offer paddling opportunities in all areas of recreational paddling including White Water Kayaking, Sea Kayaking, Inland Touring, Canoeing and Stand Up Paddleboarding. We are a registered and affiliated British Canoeing Club and one of the largest paddlesport clubs operating in the North West.
We have been inundated throughout 2021 with adults, children and family groups wanting to perfect and develop their techniques in varied paddle sports…whether that be a River Kayak, Canoe, SUP or Sea Kayak.
Everyone that helps in the club from Coaches to our Chairman are all passionate volunteers giving their own time to help individuals enjoy this wonderful sport.

About the role - Paddlesport Activity Assistant (PAA)
- This is a team support role (not on the water). Working closely with the Paddlesport Activity Coordinator and other PAA’s you will ensure paddle participants on Monday or Tuesday evenings have the correct equipment and appropriate canal bank support before and during a coaching session on the water.
- If you have an interest in paddling, or an interest as a volunteer for a charity sports club or maybe you are studying outdoor recreation at college…we would love to hear from you.
- No previous experience is required as full training will be provided.
- All we ask is that you have a warm and supportive manner and eager to help.
