To be successful in a design role you must be creative, enjoy following fashion trends, and have an eye for colour, texture, and pattern. As a designer you would keep up to date with the latest trends to gain inspiration to plan and develop ranges  and produce designs by hand or using Computer Aided Design.
You would work closely with others in the design team such as buyers and forecasters to develop the designs and meet the brief. In order to carry out successful developments and create new designs that would satisfy your target audience and meet sales targets, you would liaise closely with sales, buying and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure the item suits the customer, market and price points.
