about the role
We are looking for a strong operational manager to manage all day to day administration duties within the store, and support the Store Manager with shop floor duties when the business demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the upkeep of all store personnel files, ensuring all statutory obligations are fulfilled.
- Preparing rotas for approval by the Store Manager.
- Managing, recording and communicating holiday entitlement.
- Ensuring up to date absence and timekeeping records are maintained.
- Ensuring any payroll queries are managed quickly and efficiently.
- Manage all cash office duties; recruit, select and train cash office deputies.
- Implementing all Human Resources policies & procedures including Recruitment & Selection, Absence Management, Performance Reviews, Holidays and Disciplinary Procedures etc.
- Duty managing the store as required.
- Manage the recruitment, training and performance of all till staff.
- To manage all consumable and services accounts.
- To deal with to a satisfactory conclusion all store correspondence, including charity requests.
- To undergo any additional training as required.

Ideally you will be currently working in a busy retail office in a large format store i.e. supermarket or department store with an operational background of working on the shopfloor. You could be currently working as a Administration Manager, Operation Manager, Sales Ops Manager or a Deputy or Store Manager with some experience in back office or a passion to pursue your retail career in this environment.
An ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors...you don't necessarily have to run up mountains...but an interest in either fishing, shooting, trekking, camping, walking would be an advantage...
