about the role

  •  Work with menswear team of buyers to produce the menswear department product strategy.
  • Work with Senior Buyer & Menswear fashion Designer to create and develop seasonal ranges.
  •  Manage the sampling process from menswear fashion design packs through to finished proto fashion samples.
  •  Work closely with the team of buyers to select a balanced and commercial menswear fashion range.
  •  Together with the team of menswear buyers create and implement a supply chain strategy which sets out short, medium and long term plans.
  •  Manage the placement of orders ensuring all KPI’s and delivery targets are met.
  •  Work with Senior Menswear Buyer to wardrobe outfits for photo shoots and VM guidelines, which focus on key lines and looks of the menswear fashion collection.
  •  Manage the critical path process ensuring the product remains on brand through the approval cycle and that launch availability is maximised.
  •  Through weekly trading reviews and proposals, ensure that in season activity maximises profitability whilst maintaining efficient controls of otb and commitment.
  •  Input into cross functional projects as required e.g. Retail Operations, Visual Merchandising, Homeshopping and Warehouse.
  •  Effectively manage and motivate buyer assistants through development and reviews, ensuring that they understand their contribution towards company buyer goals.
  •  Develop self through store, competitor, factory, fayres, buyer and supplier visits. And through increased awareness of other HO functions and company issues.

 

what experience do you need?

  •  Proven experience at Junior Buyer level, ideally within menswear fashion. 
  • Use of CIMS and Excel. 
  • Understanding of customer profile and competitors fashion activity. 
  • Full knowledge of all buying principles & systems. 
  • Understanding of garment/footwear construction. 
  • Commercial and market awareness. 
  • Understanding of the supply chain and product lifecycle. 
  • Good understanding of customer profile, product range & competitors. 
  • Passionate about product. 
  • Good negotiation skills to achieve targets. 
  • Good communication and influencing skills at all levels. 
  • Highly numerical, able to interpret to determine decision making, work to budgets
